Do you ever wonder why you’re so tired all the time?

Part of my quest for better personal and personal performance, and the diagnosis that I had a very severe intolerance to wheat (and gluten) almost 20 years ago, led me on a research quest for more information, and what I could do to reverse the weight gain, and the feelings I had of being bloated, tired, and constantly fighting ”brain fog”.  Turns out, it wasn’t what I was doing at the gym, but rather what I was putting in my mouth.

The communication between your gut and brain can affect your performance on all levels—physically, emotionally and intellectually, on both professional and personal levels.

Do you ever have days when you are physically present but your mind is thousands of miles away, you have difficulty concentrating, processing what you are hearing or are just in a fog or funk?  Did you ever wonder if it’s what you are eating?

There are 3 key factors that are affecting our sensitive brains: our toxic environment, our nutrient depleted diet, and unremitting stress.

In the few years, I have really gone to “work” on learning more about the ways the food that we eat impacts not just our weight, but our health—from diseases that 10 years ago did not exist (fibromyalgia), to currently chronic conditions and autoimmune disorders, to ADD, Spectrum disorders, diabetes, hormonal imbalances, depression, anxiety, and so much more.   I am embarrassed to report that we are the only country in the WORLD that does not treat disease with the inclusion of food modification(s).  We treat with pills…that often don’t work well together and fix one thing and break another.

The claim that Genetically Engineered foods are the same as conventional foods, and therefore inherently safe, falls flat when you consider GE crops are designed to be different.  For example, “Roundup Ready” crops are engineered to withstand the herbicide Roundup, which would normally threaten the survival of the crop if sprayed too liberally.  With the advent of Roundup Ready crops, use of glyphosate (the active ingredient in Roundup) has significantly risen, with about 1 billion pounds sprayed on crops every year.  Glyphosate’s toxicity is well established, with adverse health effects ranging from birth defects to endocrine dysfunction to cancer. In spite of knowing this, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) admits foods are not tested for glyphosate residues because the cost of testing is too high. WHAT???!!!!!!  What about the price we are paying for not testing?

The city of Los Angeles has banned the use of Round Up in their parks/municipal building areas because on the actual PACKAGE of the product it says that humans should not be in contact with the product for 48-72 hours.  Who is going to close roads, parks, buildings, schools for that long?  In the meanwhile, your school, landscaper and your non-organic supermarket produce is being sprayed with this toxin/carcinogen.

If you have pets, dogs—did you notice how they are being diagnosed with cancer and all sorts of other “non-dog like sounding conditions?”  they are playing and rolling around in the pesticides!!

GE crops are much more heavily contaminated with glyphosate than conventional crops by nature of their very design. Glyphosate was recently classified as a Class 2A “probable human carcinogen” by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a division of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Most European countries have banned GMOs.  What can you do?  You can decide to avoid all GE crops by boycotting contaminated foods but it might not be as easy as you think. Many foods labeled “natural” are not really natural at all. Big corporations have swallowed up “Mom and Pop” companies that started out on the right foot but are now operated by corporations that have little concern for food quality.  Here are a few mergers you may find interesting:

  • Burt’s Bees was bought by Clorox
  • Krave Jerky was sold to Hershey
  • Naked Juice was purchased by Pepsi
  • Odwalla now belongs to Coca-Cola
  • Applegate Farms sold out to Hormel
  • Kellogg owns Kashi, Bear Naked, and Gardenburger.

Products like these that are labeled “natural” aren’t necessarily organic, so if you’re avoiding GMOs, beware!  The simple truth is most American processed food contains GM ingredients from crops grown with engineered seeds.  A massive number of American products utilize corn or soy as crucial ingredients. (Just about all conventional U.S. corn and soybeans are genetically engineered.) We are paying a very high cost for cheap food.

Unless you are buying and preparing all the food you eat, it’s likely you have been eating pesticides and herbicides along with genetically engineered food. I have found an amazing product that reverses the effects of glyphosate.  The clinical trials are back and they have shown to reduce the presence of glyphosate in the tested panel by 78% in only 6 weeks with no food alteration, imagine what could be possible with it.
